IFC is constantly looking for individual to help out. Presently, we are looking for volunteers for the following:
- Planning for the 72-hour Peace Vigil Events IFC is working with the United Religions Initiative to create within the D. C. area interfaith services and discussions on peace. (The United Religions Initiative is a global effort to create an organization of religious leaders and adherents similar to the United Nations.) We need volunteers who can work at home or out of the office to call local congregations to see whether they would be interested in having an interfaith service on December 13, January 1, or January 2nd. IFC needs help in planning three interfaith programs, attracting audiences, and getting publicity.
- The 20th Annual Interfaith Concert, A Celebration of the Sacred in Song, Dance, and Chant will take place at Adas Israel Congregation, Massachusetts and Macomb Streets, N.W. on Tuesday, November 16th at 7:30 p.m. We need volunteers to identify companies which will donate food for a rehearsal dinner (November 8th) and reception following the Concert, November 16th. We need volunteers to serve the food on those two nights and to usher. We also need office help as we get closer to the event.
- Youth Events. We need someone to make initial contact with congregations or youth leaders in their faith tradition so that we can engage their youth in our upcoming programs.
- Working on an Interfaith Prayer Book. Would you like to help us collect materials for an interfaith prayer book?
If you would like to volunteer in any of these areas, please contact Diane Sherwood at:
