A Four-Day Workshop for High School Youth from Diverse Faith Traditions

WHO
Participants:  100 high school youth of various faith traditions

Sponsoring Organization: The InterFaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington in cooperation with the Council for Spiritual and Ethical Education

WHAT
Theme: Interfaith Servant Leadership: Building Peace for a Global Community.  This is a gathering of young adults from diverse faith traditions (and those "on the journey") for four days of youth-planned interactive events.

Features:
• Meet with members of your faith tradition to share scriptures
• Share experiences in an interfaith group
• Listen as a storyteller sets the theme for the day
• Relax with outdoor team building exercises and/or outdoor sports
• Be creative! Storytelling, music, working on a mural, drama
• Create a Sacred Space
• Launch an interfaith youth network

WHEN
Sunday, June 24, 2001 at 6:00 p.m. through Thursday, June 28, 2001, 2:00 p.m.

WHERE
The Shrinemont Episcopal Center in Orkney Springs, VA.  

About the Place:  2.5 hours from Washington, D.C., the Center is situated in the Blue Ridge mountains offering gracious accommodations and good food.  Men and women will be housed separately. Dietary restrictions respected. Supervision from each faith tradition.

COSTS
$250 – includes cost of the room and meals, plus Workshop
registration and materials.  We will assist with transfers from bus, rail,
and plane.
